A story behind
I find certain types of tourists around the world extremely interesting to watch. They seem distracted, captivated, and sometimes almost scared by the unexpected diversity that hits them once they get off a ferry, plane, or subway. Some are very relaxed and careless, the so-called 'seasoned' ones who visit the same destination every year. Some temporarily take over the hosting land and feel more than justified to act inappropriately, invading others' spaces with their presence, noise, and pollution, almost as if the hosting city should be consumed with the same indifference and speed as a McDonald's hamburger.
But what distinguishes tourists the most, in my opinion, is their clothing. On vacation, away from the neighbor who looks out the window every day and the judgmental eye, they manage to unleash the most extravagant outfits and creative combinations of colors and accessories that they would never wear otherwise. Yes, comfortable, but aesthetically not very pleasing, almost as if the two things (elegance and comfort) are incompatible, like two magnets attached to the opposite sides.
